There’s a quiet moment that happens when you realize your life is about to change, not with a dramatic announcement, but with a slow, steady knowing. For me, that moment didn’t come all at once. It arrived in between early work shifts, long days on my feet, and the hum of fluorescent lights that had been the backdrop of my working life for years. Somewhere in that routine, I began to imagine something softer, slower, something easier. |

| March 10th, 2026 The destructive residing Northern Flickers have been sent their eviction notice. Remodel construction is soon to begin! We asked our contractor for a 60 day turn around and he agreed. Fingers crossed! Completion Countdown: 51 days (April 30th) |

| March 11th, 2026 Construction Begins! The team is digging out to form up the concrete footings. Back story: We bought our property almost six years ago. We have used this open-sided building to park our trucks and a trailer. It was the perfect building to remodel for my studio. Completion Countdown: 50 days (April 30th) |

| March 13th, 2026 Rock has been removed and the ground prepped for concrete. Completion Countdown: 48 days (April 30th) |

| March 17th, 2026 The old metal roof has been removed. It did not have any wood under the old metal, only plastic insulation sheeting that the Northern Flickers had destroyed. New sheets of wood and a Snap-Tight roof is going on. Completion Countdown: 44 days (April 30th) |

| March 18th, 2026 A trench was dug for electrical from the nearby building. Oopsie! They hit the water pipe that feeds the house. It was not their fault. We know the water pipe is old and fragile and needs replacing. Another project on the list for this summer. Completion Countdown: 43 days (April 30th) |

| March 19th, 2026 Concrete Day! This is like a snow day and you bet I stayed home to watch the action. The concrete team arrived at 7am to finish prep. The first concrete truck rolled in at 730am. Completion Countdown: 42 days (April 30th) |

30 minutes later, the second truck arrived on site. We have a big driveway but it was packed on this day. |

By 5pm, all is quiet again. The concrete is done and it will need up to a week to cure. |

| March 26th, 2026 (Morning) Framing begins today! Good thing we are morning people, this crew starts sharply at 7am. Completion Countdown: 35 days (April 30th) |

(Afternoon) Wow! It changed a lot today with the open side getting framed up for a window, a garage door, and extra-wide door. This is exciting! |

Trim is starting to be installed. Some pieces arrived damaged so there has been a small delay on construction. |

| April 15th, 2026 We are insulated! It is amazing how quiet it is even with the garage door opening not enclosed yet. Completion Countdown: 15 days (April 30th) |

Attic opening was cut out. |

| April 17th, 2026 Sheetrock is hung! That was super fast, less than a day. Completion Countdown: 13 days (April 30th) |

| April 20th, 2026 Front metal siding was installed. The original red metal siding, on the original three sides, is sun bleached. Rather than painting the whole building, I decided it was more efficient to go with white on the front. I think it adds character! Completion Countdown: 10 days (April 30th) |

The sheetrock was taped and first round of mud applied. |
