Summer Picnic Quilt Sew-Along: Month 5

| Wow! I am running a few days late getting this posted. It has been a crazy few weeks and now the election is over. YEAH! Time to settle back into a normal routine that does not include watching an excessive amount of news, rallies, or interviews. The moments in history I have woven into this quilt is like no other quilt I have worked on. Our time together is coming to a close with only one more month to go. | If you are creating the Summer Picnic Quilt following Susan's book instructions, you will create Basket Four Blocks this month. You will create a total of 12 Basket Four Blocks that will go together in 3 - 4 block units. |

| Ok, I left off in October with all my 4 block units created. |

| It did not take much time after that for me to finish my top. I added the sashing pieces and started sewing the rows together. Before I knew it, the top was ready for the final border. |

| (AH! It's too big for my sewing room/office floor for a full picture.) I went for a wide border as I had the perfect fabric set aside for this quilt. My quilt finished out at 93" x 93" after adding an almost 10" border all around it. I was a little short on the length, so I compensated by adding the cornerstones that are within the quilt. My Summer Picnic Quilt is on the Long Arm for Machine Quilting. I can't wait to show you the final review next month! |
