Mystery Five-0 Mystery Quilt Program

As a proud charter member and partner of the Mystery Five-0 Quilt Program, we’re bringing you several brand-new Mystery Quilts throughout the year—each one full of surprises and creativity.

Outline of the two different mystery programs offered:

• The Mini Mystery Quilts are FREE one-day virtual events only in our Mystery Five-0 Private Facebook Group.  These are a mini quilt.  You can purchase a curated bundle or use your stash.

• The larger Mega Mystery Quilts are approximately throw-size quilts.  They require a $50 Registration/Qualifing Purchase.  These are offered several times throughout the year, run 5 weeks long, and the clues are emailed  to registered members.  You can purchase a curated kit or use your stash.  Registration is required for each session of these mysteries, even if you are using your stash.

The Mystery Five-0 organizers/administrators determine the guidelines for participating shops to follow.  Updates to this page are published upon confirmation of new information.

Luau Mystery Quilt ($50) – March 2026:

This third mystery quilt is a virtual event starting March 4^th, 2026. 

A mystery pattern clue will be emailed  to registered quilters  each week for five weeks. The reveal pattern will be emailed on April 1^st – no foolin! 

Instructional videos for each clue will be posted in our Mystery Five-0 Private Facebook Group.

You’ll have two exciting options for setting your quilt blocks.  Each Luau Mystery Quilt setting offers a different size, giving you the flexibility to create the quilt that’s just right for you!

• Luau Torches finishes at 65” x 83”

• Luau Feast finishes at 75” x 75”

Fabric Requirements:

You will need seven different fabrics and a binding.  As with any mystery quilt, small non-directional prints are best, and you want each fabric to stand on its own when placed next to the others.  If a fabric blends into another fabric when placed side-by-side, you will want to find a substitute.

Select a Feature Fabric, a Background, 2-3 Contrasting Fabrics, and 2-3 Accent Fabrics.  Don’t forget to include a pop or two of color!

In mid-February, Yardage Requirements and Fabric Selection information will be available for registered members to help guide you with your fabric choices.  With my downsizing for semi-retirement, we are not offering curated kits for this mystery.

The quilt’s name may be Hawaiian-themed, but the finished design is not.  Select fabrics that speak to you and let your creativity shine!

Luau Mystery Quilt Registration:

Registration is required to participate. 

Spend $50 or more on any order between January 12^th, 2026 and March 3^rd, 2026 and you will be automatically enrolled  in the Luau Mystery Quilt. 

No extra steps required - we will record your qualifying order for you.
