The Birthstone Series: November/Citrine
Create your own sparkling gem quilt using the same single-foundation piecing techniques used to create a giant gem quilt. This isn't regular paper piecing! Reusable iron-on templates adhere to the front of the fabric and can be easily removed after piecing. YOU CAN DO THIS! Confident Beginner and beyond.
Freezer paper piecing pattern for 17” square block. Includes a fully-coded freezer paper template; full-scale paper copy to use as a key; and 12-page pattern booklet that includes fabric requirements, detailed instructions for block construction, and instructions and fabric requirements for a 12-block full-size quilt shown on pattern cover.
Patterns are designed for ease of use; most patterns avoid extremely small pieces. All patterns are designed to avoid bulky seams. Most patterns have no inset seams (exceptions are May/Emerald and June/Alexandrite.)
Single-foundation piecing is not typical paper piecing: templates are ironed to the RIGHT side, so there is no confusing reverse piecing; templates are easily removed and REUSABLE, so there are no paper bits to pull from the back of the quilt; reduces fabric waste since there is no flip-and-sew method used. Makes wonderful Block of the Month project, Mother's Day quilt (featuring the family's birthstones), baby quilt (featuring Baby's birthstone), or Guild group challenge project.
